    Installing heat pump thermostat
    Dear Sirs:

I am replacing an old Bryant heat pump thermostat with a Honeywell RTH7600.

I stopped the installation when the manual said, "Contact a professional" if
    You have a "W1" wire.

    Will you please help me?

    The wires that I have are: r, o, e, y, g, c, and W1.

    Thank you for your assistance.

What was the old thermostat? Do you have a two stage heat pump, and what is your backup? Knowing what the E and W1 wires go to and control will solve the mystery.
