    HVAC indoor vent CFM
In general, can you tell me what the CFM of air should be for a furnace coming out of a vent?

    Thank you!

Not really. There is basically no set standard since it depends upon the blower hp, size of duct, length of duct, grill type for a deduction of air flow etc. Sorry but that is just the way it works in this business.

Thanks for the response... can you give me a range? Surely there must be a standard for a given size room? I would think the larger the room the more CFM needed?

I have a 3 ton 1200CFM blower furnace that I am working on.

Here is a 40 year old chart. Every thing else here is electronic programing that needs a complete set of parameters which you do not have.

HVAC Vent Noise [ 5 Answers ]

I recently had my HVAC system replaced and now I am having a problem with the noise being generated by the room vents. It is probably because this newer system (the previous was >30yo) has a stronger fan motor and is forcing the air through the vents faster. It is really annoying and wakes us in...
