How to install an a/c condenser fan motor
My condenser fan motor squeels every once in a while. It doesn't do it all the time. Im leaving town for two days. If this acts up while Im gone, will it shut my a/c off. Will it do damage to my unit. What is the avg. cost of the motor .

    1) Probably not. 2) Possibly. 3) Where are you located and what kind of supply house do you have access to? Get ALL the information on the fan spec plate or take the whole motor unit to the supply house and get the replacement. Get the correct new capacitor too. If you can't pull the fan off the shaft correctly things could get really expensive really quickly. This is one of those jobs that can be anywhere from pretty easy to frighteningly difficult for a novice.

Additional info: If you don't know what you are doing, and depending on the ODU, you have to watch that you don't damage the condenser coil. That COULD turn the whole job into a complete system replacement.
