Gas fired hot water baseboard system. 3 thermostat zones. When 1 of the zones calls for heat, the zone valve opens and a 'click' is heard, but does not kick the pump on. If I switch the pump from 'intermitent' to 'constant', water flows, the boiler kicks on and all works fine.
Just installed a new taco 007 pump. It does not work. I checked it by using an extension cord and it works fine, Could it be the aquastat? (Honeywell L8124 a,c triple aguastat) Every thing else on the weil mclain burner works fine only the pump does not work. What can I do to check?

Is there any problem with me putting a regular toggle light switch on a circulator pump? I want to be able to shut the pump down at will without going up 3 flights to turn the thermostat down.
I have an oil furnace plenty of oil and power to everything, but the circulator will not work. It hums when I turn the t-stat up. I would like to repair it. I cannot afford to replace it today -- and pay emergency service prices.
