How do I find I am low on Freon? & Is it time to buy new one?
    Hello All,

I am in Plano, Texas... I have Carrier A/C unit that is most likely 10+ years old... We bought the home 3 years ago but it was built 1995... I don't think unit was changed by the previous owner... it is safe to assume that unit is at least 12 years old... I haven't changed Freon in 2+ years now...

I don't have any major problems as such... I had a blower Fan replaced last year... outside condenser unit trips at times when it overheats and I need to reset the breaker. It also takes a while to cool...

Now, is it time to change the Unit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks,

I'd say the whole system needs a good tune-up!

Thanks Guys... I had a tech come in and check... Freon level is good... it was my condensing fan that needed to be changed... Everything else is good... Tech believs everything is good and this unit can go for another few years...
