    Honeywell RTH230B filter change
Our unit had the Filter light on yesterday and it was blowing very cool, so we changed the filter today and reset the counter, but it is not cooling the house now.
We only changed the filter about 2 weeks ago and have been changing it every 3-4 weeks since we got the new thermostat a couple of months ago. Is there something else that we need to do to get it to start cooling off?

I can't find my instructions for the thermostat. :(

If you can provide your email address, or email me , I can send you the instructions. The file is too large to upload here, even zipping will not work.

All the instructions say about the filter indiator is that every 500 hours it reminds you to replace the filter, to stop the indicator, hold the Filter button for three seconds to reset the counter.

This is only a builtin timer for the indicator light, it has no other function, and does not connect or do anything else. It has no effect on the operation of the system.

The lack of cooling is another problem. Since the stat worked originally, you may need to have the system checked , for low Freon, dirty condenser coils, or some other maintenance issue.

    Hope this helps.

Hmmm. It was just serviced a couple of weeks ago. They came and cleaned off some of the coils and said that they were pretty dirty.

    My address is [email protected]
    Thanks!
