Honeywell Pro Th 4110 thermostat -- AUTO DOES NOT WORK
I live in an apartment with a really terrible thermostat. Why is it terrible? Because if you switch the lever from COOL or HEAT to OFF... switching it back does not do anything. No settings were changed, no fuses blown... just switched it from a working COOL setting to OFF and back to COOL... only know the A/C doesn't turn on.

Previous trial and error has somehow made the heat or A/C go back on, but for some reason, nothing is working this time around.

In going through the system options (pressing both up and down arrows and holding in), the only options that do not come up are the ones for COOL and HEAT (10 and 30). Everything else can be configured except that -- and that's regardless of whether the switch is set to COOL or HEAT.

I know the wires in the back are in their proper places because the thing was just working until I switched it to OFF for about 2 minutes. Switching it back to COOL did not turn it back on.

Any advice/help? As I said, trial and error has somehow fixed it before, but it usually entailed waiting 6-7 hours and then miraculously discovering the A/C turned on for... some reason.
