    Hartell Automatic Condensate pump failure?
We have a Hartell Automotic Condensate pump (KT-15X-1UL) attached to our Comfortmaker super high efficiency furnace/air conditioner. It is making a continuous racket. There is a powdery substance that fallen under the pump and there is a small hot smell coming from it. Can we safely unplug it till the repairperson arrives tomorrow or will we lose heat? Will we risk anything by not unplugging it?
    Thanks!

If the pump is disabled, any condensate produced by the system will overflow the reservoir. Unless, the pump has an auxiliary/overflow switch wired to shut down the system and prevent overflow. It sounds like you are in the market for a new pump anyway, so perhaps get what you can from this one.

Venting a Condensate Pump [ 4 Answers ]

I'm using a condensate pump to catch some basement water seepage and pump it over to my sump pit. It's a strange application but seems to be working to an acceptable decree. My problem is. The run to the pit is over 50 feet and the water is "stuck" in the plastic 3/8" condensate discharge line....

Submersible pump failure [ 6 Answers ]

I have a shared well with a neighbor. The submersible pump, which was probably 10 years old, failed this Spring (Franklin submersible). The water line to the neighbors' house also froze this Winter, which required the road to be dug up to correct the frozen pipes. My guess is the constant draw...
