The problem I have is that the blower is cycling even when there is no signal from the thermostat. The AC and the blower both work properly when the temperature rises above the thermostat threshold. So, I checked the Controller Board in the furnace for an error indicator. The light flashes a series of 3 blinks... then a series of 5 blinks... 1 long blink and 2 short blinks... then back to 3 blinks. Normally I would just wait until the darn thing fails completely, however, the rise in my utility bills now has me looking at ways to save on electricity. My troubleshooting indicates that the thermostat is fine and the problem is that the furnace contoller board has gone insane. Before I go buying a new contoller board, I'd like to get some other opinions about this problem.

Turn off the breaker to furnace wait a few minutes,turn back on. See if you still have the problem.watch and record the first code if any and check the door panel to see what the code is
