Gas fireplace pilot light goes out on own
We had our fireplace checked up by a service tech. he had the fireplace working with the pilot light visible to the eye that showed it was on. However, we just tried to turn on the electric ignition gas fireplace and discovered tha the pilot light is off. What could be causing the flame to blow out?

If the fireplace is electric ignition, the pilot light will only light when there is a call for heat. IF pilot is not lighting itself when a call for heat, then I suggest having the tech back out to trouble shoot the system. While you have him there, ask him to explain the operation of the fireplace. Good luck and let me know what he finds.
