Unscrew the screw that holds the flame sensor in place and take the sensor out and clean the metal wire part with a piece of sand paper and replace. It may work better.

Is there a status light on the furnace? If so, it will lead to the problem.

Sounds like the thermostat may be the problem. The status light should blink if the furnace malfunctions.
