    Does the Goodman GMH950703BXAC have an ECM motor?
    I replaced a 40+ year old furnace in October with the Goodman GMH950703BXAC.
    I applied for the rebate from Consumers Energy and they said it did not have and ECM motor and wasn't eligible. Can anyone explain if they are correct or incorrect?

    Says it qualifies for the Federal Energy Credit. I think someone is pulling your leg because it's a 95% efficient furnace.

    Now if it wasn't professionally installed or not within the timeframe, then that's an issue.

    Looks like it's a PSC motor for the blower. The GMV or GME have the ECM motors. See page #2.

    An ECM motor saves electricity. It probably isn't counted in cumbustion efficeincy.

    There is a list somewhere on a Federal site as to which systems qualify for the Federal tax Credit. If you arm yourself with that info, you may win UNLESS this is an electric only issue with the energy provider.
