Converting a Carrier Thermostat to a Hunter Model 44860
I currently have a basic contractor installed Carrier thermostat (non-programmable). We wanted to upgrade to a programmable. I went with Lux at first and had to call the tech support, only to have them call back and tell me that my system wasn't compatible. Anyway, here is my current make up on the Carrier:

    S1
    S2
    O/W2
    R
    Y/Y2
    G
    C
    W/W1

How in the world do I convert it to the Hunter? I was told by Lux that I have a Stage 2 Heat Pump, whatever that means. Any help would be most appreciated.

Have you contacted Carrier on this question? This system may or may not be able to be a programmable system. I know of several older systems that are not convertible to a programmable system. They should know which make and model is for your system.

Convert to a hunter,, WHY? Anything but a hunter,, will be the sorriest piece of junk you ever bothered to install,, it not worth the trouble you are going through,, it`ll be broke before the first season has passed by
