Condenser fan fails to start intermittently
Condenser fan sometimes fails to start (notably after its been running for some time).
After I de-energize the unit for ~ 1/2 hr, it it then starts up.

    1. Do I need to replace fan and capacitor?

    2. The installed capacitor has 3 leads with a resistor across 2 terminals. Do I find a like replacement or should I us a 2 lead capacitor? In that case how do I wire it up?

    Thanks in advance.

You may have a faulty capacitor or motor , when replacing motor always replace capacitor . The new motor may use a different size cap. What is most likely happening is the motor is getting hot due to bearings dragging and shutting down until it cools off, check cap. First since this is inexpensive to replace.
If your old cap. Has three terminals then you can simply replace it with one sized to the new motor (on side of motor) a two terminal cap. Will work fine just leave the old cap. In place because it also serves the compressor just unhook the wire that went to the fan motor.(marked fan on cap.)
