    Code for thermostat
I recently had a new hvac unit unstalled in a 2 story house. The contractor unstalled the thermostat in the upstairs hall by the intake vent. Another contractor stated that it was not code to have the thermostat upstairs and should have been downstairs. The thermostat from the old unit was downstairs. Is this a problem?
