Central air conditioner not cooling properly
I have a single wide moble home with an addition, it has 100 amp service. I had a two and a half ton air conditioner and heat pump installed a few years ago. It has never cooled my home and I have had a numer of service people check it and they either add freon or take it out saying there is too much. No one can find out why it doesn't cool.
Could you tell me if I need a 200 amp service to make it cool better as it does have cool air? |

The size service will not cause an air conditioner to work better or worse. A service not large for an air conditioner enough would cause electrical problems.

It is possible that the system lacks sufficient capacity to cool the structure. The system may have been sized according to only the square footage of your home as opposed to the actual rate of heat gain. Mobile homes typically have thinner walls, roofs, and insulation than homes built on-site; as a result, you may require more cooling capacity than a conventional structure of the same square footage.

First it could be that the folks who have worked on the system do not know what they are doing since some add gas and some take it out. This is nuts because there is only supposed to be one correct amount of gas in the A/C unit to start with. If the service men do not know what superheat or subcooling is fire them and get someone that does. When you find that person then you will know the unit is charged correctly.
Two and a half tons of A/C should cool that single wide or at least get all the moisture out to make it dry and comfortable. Since this problem has been around since it was put in new I think you will need to have the duct system/inside coil/air filter checked/ and outside unit all checked to make sure something else besides the refrigerant charge is is not causing the problem. |

:confused: My fan to the air conditioner outside doesn't come. There is air coming out of the vents in the house, but no cold. What should the thermoset be set on in order for the fan to come on outside?
The circuit breaker in the house was tripped for the air conditioner. I turned it back on and the fan to the outside unit is not turning on. How do you turn that back on?
