Hello all,
The blower on my Central AC will not come on. The display shows a code 41. It worked fine forever, but now fails to run the fan in heat, AC or even with just the fan on selection. Any ideas?

On the front of your furnace is a list of the codes , what does it say for code 41?

I've troubleshot it down to the blower motor or the circuit board/CPU. I already know what the code 41 is telling me, I was looking for a more detailed answer though. Is there anyway to jumper the motor to tell if it will spool up? The tech guys are telling me a capacitor is invloved, but I don't see it in the schematic... I found a troubleshooting manual here:

You are right , there is no capacitor because this is a variable speed DC motor, the only thing you can do is go to page 27 and 28 of your instruction manual and take it step by step in order to determine what is bad, there is no way to jumper something to make it run, but I will say this that I have found most of the time the problem is the modual on the motor (this bolts to the back of the motor that's why it is so long) Check for date of installation (They have five years warranty) If you don't know date , look at the serial number. The first two numbers is the week and the second two numbers are the year it was manufactured. The motor and the modual can be replaced independently of one another, (Very expensive) Good luck, Mike

Thanks for the input! Using the troubleshooting guide I ran it down to change the motor. I've got a carrier guy coming by tomorrow to confirm for $69... I will do the work, I just want to see if he comes up with the same answer. Any ideas on web based supply houses for the motor or module?

This part ,either modual or motor has to come from Carrier, so try to purchase direct to save money since you are changing it yourself. I had a modual go out on my furnace a few years back and it cost me wholesale over two hundred dollars and I think the motor is over three hundred, as you have seen there is a long list of things to check to be sure what's wrong..
