Can you oil an inducer motor instead of replacing it
The man who came out to reconnect my gas for the winter told me that my inducer motor is going. He said years ago you used to just be able to oil them up and they'd be fine. Now they have some cover on them. Can they still be oiled? My heat works. He taped on the cover of the motor a few times to get it to start the first time. It sounds like a steam engine running through my utility room when it starts up. Can't really afford much, and I'm by myself with my four kids so really need to keep this furnace running. Is this something I can do alone? And if so what kind of oil do I use? Just some WD40?
