a/c not cooling after replaced fan motor
I recently replaced a condenser fan motor. New motor works great. However, no cold air. I've noticed while outside unit running the fan will turn off for a fraction of a second and then back on. Is this a compressor problem now? A maintenance tech at the factory I work at suggested "jump starting" the compressor with a larger capacitor and then replacing normal cap. Is that a load? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn`t advise that,, you could try replacing the capactor,, but with a exact match to the one you have, the new motor you replaced should have a new seporate capactor all to its self

This momentary slowing of the fan motor may be the compressor trying to start, check your capacitor for the compressor, if bad relpace it . A start booster capacitor can be added to help it start if after replacing the run capacitor and it still won't start. Good luck, Mike

If the A/C system is kicking off and then on (compressor and fan motor) I would say a low pressure or high pressure switch is locking it out. Low pressure switch= low air flow, low on refrigerant charge, restricted metering device at evaporator coil and so on. High pressure switch= dirty condenser coil, over charged, condenser fan motor not running or running backwards or restricted metering device and so on.
