a/c does not want to charge?
    Hello guys,

Ok. So I checked my a/c and removed capacitor. It was still good. So then I checked power to compressor. There is power to compressor. I installed a valve to recharge freon. Was hardly any freon when I opened line to install freon. I turned on a/c with compressor running to charge but it doesn't want to take the freon. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Or am I doing something wrong?

The first problem you have is the lack of a EPA permit to deal with refrigerant (freon to some people).
Thr refrigerant you are playing with is destroying good old mother earth so the powers to be decided some while back to require proper training to deal with the subject. I suggest you let the professionals deal with the refrigerant (freon).

I solved the problem. I purchased a bullet piercing valve and installed it. I then charged the unit with r22 until full. It works like new now. Well I would like to thank you for help. I don't just jump into any problem without doing the proper research. I make sure I know what I'm getting into. This was a simple fix. I just wish we could all help each other instead of turning people away. I also understand your concern about good old mother earth but if you think about it there are way bigger things hurting good old mother earth than a little bit of refrigerant. Anyway, thanks for help and input. I am very great full for this web site.

I am glad you charged the unit till it was full but I have no idea how you would tell if it was full unless you have the proper charts for the refrigerant you are using along with temperature indicators to take temperatures accurately etc. I guess all that counts is that you are happy for now and with luck it might keep working. I take violations of the laws very seriously so sorry I could not be more helpful and I hope you understand why I cannot take any risk in losing my various licenses since one violation in any category will bring them all down.

I understand your concern for violators. I did use yellow jacket gauges to charge my a/c accordingly. I wouldn't want you to lose any of your licenses either. But it's like you said, To acquire knowledge, one must study, but to acquire wisdom, one must observe. :)
