I have a Bryant furnace that is 7 years old. My heat went out on Dec.25,2010, I had a friend from the gas company come out and was told that I needed a thermostat and furnace ignition. I put the thermostat in myself which took 10 minutes, my wires on the thermostat was a 4 wire with red, green, white and blue which hooks up to Y for cold. Before you pay someone to check out your furnace look around first, I was told that to get my heat back on by a contractor that it would be $350.00. I had my friend come out and had to pay $50.00 for the ignition switch and $59.00 for a Honeywell thermostat. It only took 10 minutes to put the furnace ignition on.My furnace was blinking 3 blinks and then 1 blink. As soon as I turned the thermostat on to heat my flame then came on.Good luck.
