    Boiler run times
My gas steam boiler was operating at approximately 3-5 minutes of run time
Followed by 10-15 minutes of not running. When the last run cycle ended the
Boiler did not run again for 3 hours.

The thermostat was set at 70 degrees and the temperature reading on the
Thermostat was 70 degrees and the house was starting to feel cool.

Does this sound like a normal condition?

And what happened? Did the boiler kick in? What you are describing is not uncommon. The house reaches set temperature, ambient temperature is maintained and no heat is required. Feeling cold is subjective.

I have a Hobart 600 automatic gas fired furnace. The first thing is I cannot see a circulater pump or a air tank. I can not tell if it is steam or hot water. When I go to fill the system with water, the system fills and then the water continues to flow out to the drain pipe.

Steam boiler cycle times [ 2 Answers ]

I just had a Peerless WBV-03 SPL steam boiler installed. At the start, the burner shuts off once it reaches 1.75 PSI, about 20-25 minutes. From there on it runs for about 2 minutes, shuts down at 1.75 PSI and restarts in two minutes when there is no pressure reading on the gauge. This continues...
