    Bleeding hotwater baseboard air
I had some pipe connections refitted, and since then my water heater sounded like it was tumbling rocks in it. Now this same sound, along with whooshing air/water sounds, are running through all the pipes in the house. The furnace is gas and is about 30 years old, I think. Is this just just a "bleeding" job, and if so, how do I do that at each baseboard? Does it need to be done somewhere between the hot water heater and the furnace too? Does the hot water heater have anything to do with the furnace at all? Thanks people.

You will have to look for the bleed screws or ports usually on the base board heaters themselves. You will have to take the end covers off the base board to see where all the bleeder screws are located. You may also need a item called a key since some bleeders have a hex type head for the bleeder others use a coin vent and those can be done with a screw driver

If you do not have a auto fill valve you will have to hand feed the boiler water since bleeding will lower the pressure.

Thanks! I will take a look at each baseboard to see what I have. As to the "auto fill valve"..? I can guess what it does, but as to where it is?? Thanks again from AK

As to the "auto fill valve

It will be attached to the water feed line to the boiler.

Bleeding Hot Water Baseboard System [ 2 Answers ]

I have a gas fired boiler that heats water, uses 1 circulator pump to pump water to 2 zones (each with its own thermostat), using copper pipe to baseboards with fins. I am having difficulty bleeding the air out. One zone heats fine, the other not at all. I think there may be some kind of air...

Is water baseboard bleeding required with auto bleeders? [ 1 Answers ]

I am replacing a bad boiler. Some of my baseboards are extremely difficult to get to due to built in furniture. If auto bleeder valves are in place, is it necessary to bleed each baseboard, or will the system eventually complete the process?
