    Air handler
The fan on my Trane air handler continues to run even after the thermostat is turned to off. I have to shut the breaker on the air handler.

Very likely a case of relay contacts that have fused together. This shouldn't prevent the system from heating, but if it is a sequencer it could cause the system to heat continuously. Call in a pro.
