    Adding upstairs unit
I currently have one one ac/heat unit for my 2 story home. I was wanting to know how difficult, if possible to have 2 separate units one for upstairs and one down. Is it a lot of trouble and is it expensive?

First call and get at least two estimates for the work you want done.
Yes it is possible to have one up and one down separate units.
Trouble? When done you will have two units to service.
Expensive? See first line of this post. It is impossible to give you a true estimate here since all is dependent upon you present duct system, location and many other variables.

So do you think it is best the way it is? It just seems hard to cool the upstairs? Any suggestions on best way?

Your comfort is your discission. If you have a hard to cool room upstairs I would just buy a cheap window A/C unit and save the extra expense to pay for gas to drive your car. LOL
