    AC Not Working
I just turned on the Air Conditioning for the first time last night. The fan works but I'm not getting any cool air. I went outside and checked the unit and the fan on the inside is barely turning. Do you have any ideas on what could be the issue?

    Thanks!

More info,, on outside unit, is the fan only barely turning? Is compressor running? Is this a split system,? a package unit? You said (I went "outside" and checked the unit and the fan on the ""inside"" is barely turning.) this kind of confusing

I know . I'm sorry - don't know anything about this! OK, I have an outdoor cooling unit and an indoor furnace that runs on gas. I think that means split system? When I turn on the cool and auto fan from the thermostat, the fan comes on and blows air but it is not cold air. I went outside and checked the unit and the fan itself seems to be barely turning. I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem but I know it's not normal. Does this help clarify? Sorry for the confusion?

Sounds like 1st thing I would check is the capacitor,, this is a canister /can type part with wires connected to post on the top, a lot of times when they go bad it will swell up on the top around where the wires connect,, is simple to replace if you just want to guess or have a tech check it out that has testers to do it right,, if you try to do anything yourself be sure you kill the power before sticking fingers anywhere, even after you kill the power a capacitor will hold a charge of electricity that could stop your heart
