    Won't recognise external hard drive
My computer won't recognise an external hard drive. I plugged it into the usb port (I have no firewire port) and then turned on the power supply and as far as my computer is concerned the drive isn't even there

    Help?!

    Thanks

What version of Windows? Have you used other USB devices? Did you try a different port? Did you follow the install instructions.

Ha! It turns out the power cable was a bit dodgy. I gave it a twist and all was well for long enough to copy what I needed from the drive.

    Thanks for your help,
