    Age has NOTHING to do with it. You need to figure out what it is you will be storing. However, today's machines generally start with 200+ Gig, which is enough for most people.

    They do? I thought most machines would start with 80GB or something :/

    Not for a couple of years. Low end desktops start with 120-160 G drives. Most medium level machines start with 200G. Laptops however have smaller drives, starting now at about 100G.
