For some drives low to medium loudness noises can be normal during active operation particularly if the drive has always made the noise. For others it can be an indication of the drive recalibrating or re-trying to read info it is having trouble reading, so being an indication of a failing drive. If this was a formerly quiet drive that just started making loud clicks or ticks, stop using the drive until your data can be backed up.

You should back up your data cause if it just started making that sound then it could be going bad unless it isn't secured properly in the case
