I have bleached hair wanting to grow it out but my roots are really dark,
I have bleached hair wanting to grow it out but my roots are really dark and stand out so much, I have read that if you want to dye bleached hair brown first of all you have to dye it red and then put the brown on while still damp so it doesn't go green, but will my roots go a dif colour than the blonde if I do this? Do I dye my roots red as well has the bleached hair or not? I don't want my hair doing a load of different shades, I really need this doing as soon as possible as I have a wedding and don't want to be going with really dark roots but bleached everywere else and hairdresser can't get me in till November xx PLEASE HELP

You're correct about using red to cancel out the green, however, find a tube of brown closest to your hair color, and go a shade lighter. Then when you are mixing your brown with 10 volume developer (because you are depositing color) use just an 1/8the of an inch of red additive to mix in as well. Then apply to DRY hair. I would have a friend put the color on for equal distribution.

I would go to a beauty supply store to buy these products. Don't use box color as it has metallic salts in it, which is damaging to your hair.

The reason why I mentiond to get a brown that is a shade lighter, is because your bleached hair will grab that color, so you don't want it to be to dark.

Again, I stress not to use a lot of red additive, or else that too will pull strongly.

    Good luck.

Yes, but now it will look better for the growing out process. Also, over time the color will fade some, so then it won't be as dark.
