    Hair Thickness
Hey, I used to have quite thick hair until I started dying it black (for an ex who loved dark hair) and as time went by I kept dying it myself however instead of just doing my roots I would foolishly empty the whole bottle of dye onto my head and it just got thinner and thinner, along with letting a 'friend' mess with it (she basically just randomly cut it) - however this was around a year ago and I've been to a hairdresser, had it cut a lot shorter with short layers and its faded to a dark brown as opposed to black now however its no where near as thick as it used to be. Are there any products or natural remedies to thicken hair? I'm aware of Vitamin C and just the general diet of course. Thanks xxx

Nicolle, try using hair products designed to add volume. Choose a body building shampoo and conditioner. As for styling products, a volumizing mousse product can give the hair maximum fullness without adding a lot of weight. You can also use a hot roller set to add some volume to the hair, it will help make the hair look fuller.

Yeah, I use a special shampoo which is designed to thicken hair and it works pretty well although its pretty pricey. I'll start trying mousse and such now though :] Thanks for the advice!

Your welcome, Nicolle. Remember that some conditioners will weight down the hair. Use a light body building conditioner. Apply conditioner to the lengths and ends of your hair, not the roots. This will prevent your hair from becoming weighted down. I understand you had a short layer cut. You should consider asking your hairstylist to give you a blunt hair cut. Blunt hair cuts are excellent for finer and thinner hair types, because all the hair is cut to one length making is appear thicker.
