    Frizzy and hair loss
    Hello,

I have Epilepsy and am on excessive amounts of anti-epileptic drugs and magnesium. Over the past couple of months, I have noticed that my hair is very, very frizzy with an excessive amount of hair loss on a daily basis. I have tried to wash my hair every 2-3 days, and of used all types of products ranging in prices. I will be getting tested for Polycystic Ovarian Disease because my complaints are these symptoms.

Please give me some hair products that can help me have my hair look healthy and manageble. It used to be very thick, now it feels thin w/ a lot of breakage.

Please Help!! Thank You, Maria Lusi

I'm so sorry to hear that you have Epilepsy. Some prescription drugs can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the drugs. But it's very important that you take your anti-epileptic drugs as recommended. Anti epileptic medications do not cure epilepsy, but they help prevent seizures in well over half of the people who take them.

You can make your hair healthy and fuller by using a body-building shampoo and conditioner. If you have breakage, do a deep conditioning treatment twice a week. Also, lightly massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers, always using a circular movement for five minutes when shampooing. This is good for blood nourishment to the scalp and it will help remote hair growth. If your hair keeps shedding from using the anti-epileptic drugs, consult a dermatologist. Dermatologists who specialize in hair loss will examine the scalp and hair to find out whether the problem will respond to medical treatment.
