    Dear Hometown:

That would depend on what color you ultimately want to end up with. You say you went and bought "opps"? What's that?

If you provide me with more information on the color you would like your hair to be, I can then give you instructions on what to purchase, how to do it, etc. :)

Color Oops removes the artificial pigment. It doesn't remove the remaining natural pigment. Some of the pigment was already removed by the peroxide in the colorings that you already used.

The answer is, "re-dye the hair" to whatever color you choose (but make sure you know what shade to pick -- it won't come out the color on the box). If you want it to be lighter and not orange, you'll have to bleach the hair and then "tone" with a coloring.

You've also received an (unfortunately arrogant) answer from Marea (below). Although she suggests that she disagrees with me, my comments are totally consistent and in agreement with hers. You do have to re-dye the hair. You simply have to make sure you know what you're doing or you're going to have problems.

    Dear Hometown:
I noticed you received another answer from someone regarding your problem with "orange" hair.
It's with the utmost respect and years of experience that I have to disagree with them.
You cannot just simply "re-dye" your hair then color/tone it. There are far too many variables, and if you don't do it properly once and for all, you're going to end being bald! And I am NOT exaggerating!
Hair turning orange is extremely common when one is trying to go a lighter shade. However, you said you were trying to go darker.
When one is trying to go lighter, they need to "lift" the existing color, so they'll use particular products, such as bleach, with higher volume developers.
In your case, you probably used a developer above 20, which unnecessarily lifted (lightened) your color and it grabbed on to all the red.
If you wanted to go darker, lifting wasn't necessary. You only need to "deposit" (put) color on your hair, and would therefore use a 10 volume developer at most. This would dye your hair, and not bring out the red.
If you REALLY wanted to make sure there was no red whatsoever, you could use a brown tint that has an "ash" tone to it as well that would basically remove any chance of reds reappearing.
As with everything in life, there is a right way to do things, and a wrong way. You already went the wrong route. Now it's time to do it right if you want to still have hair at the end of it all!
So my offer is still open if you want to send me more info on what you've done so far (so I can assess the damage) and where you would like to be, then I can "prescribe" the necessary items and instructions! :)
