My brown hair came out bright red!
My original hair color was brown and I decided I wanted to dye it with a little red tint. So i bought clairol natural instincts non permanent color which lasts through 28 shampoos. When my hair dried, It was nothing like the box. On the box it was "cinnamon stick" which is supposed to be medium warm brown but it came out sooo red. I just want to go back to my original hair color and soon. Is there something I can do without drying out my hair?

Reds are hard to get out. You can use a brown color over it, but make sure it has a violet or blue base to cover the red.

Not really, most hair dyes rely on red tint to give you the color. Red is the hardest color to get out of your hair. You may find that even after the 28 shampoos it will still be red for a long time.

My recommendation would be to wash your hair a few more times to help lessen the color then maybe go and get a darker color brown dye to help balance out the color.

Home haircolor can be so tricky, I have done this myself before. Want it embarrassing? I decided to freshen up my hair color a day before a date and my hair came out clown red. I was freaking out big time. So I really feel your pain.

Actually, you would need to use a green-base ash hair color to neutralize the red tones in the hair. To match your natural color as close a possible, choose an "ash brown" hair color. This should neutralize the red tones. I recommend leaving the color mixture on for ten minutes and then rinse it out. From your description, it sounds like you've used a semi-permanent color. If the color is still in your hair, do not worry about it. Permanent color can be applied over semi-permanent color.
