    Grants for disabled women
Hello. Do you know if there are government grants available for disabled women? My niece is confined to a wheelchair and will never be able to walk again. She needs help with in home care, transportation, housing, etc. I have searched the web until I can't see straight, and have yet to find legitimate information. Can anyone give me any information on this subject? I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you very much. Donna:)

There are grants out there for disabled women - both by state government and federal - sometimes local organization such as rotary, lions club and so on. My problem is, I am also handicapped and been looking for a long time , I can't find any that will tell me how to write the grant proposal and application without going through a third party that costs and arm and a leg. I will keep looking and if I see one I will let you know - I did see 1 this morning but that want $65/mo to access there website. This is a little steep for me.

Most of the grants will be for groups that furnish services, and then there is only so much funding, often what you do is write a proposal to open a center to train or supply something to a group of people. You send that to 100's of private companies hoping they will help fund this.

A lot of government funds will come after you review what money is available, and write for it.

Nrmally you are not going to find grants for one person directly.
