I have to explain using a case study example how sustainable construction and environmental management / conservation issues impact on the organization and operation of a project:confused: I do not know where to start,any help will be gladly received

After 35 years of construction management as a highway engineer for a state transportation department I could go on for weeks on this issue.
Just a few observations:
1) I was in a mid-eastern state with many streams, rivers and primarily Cheasapeake Bay
2) We started in the 70's having to put straw bales to trap sediment
3) By the 90's we were installing "super silt fence" chain link fence instead of straw bales
4) We were scheduling bridge projects over water not when the public needed them but based on when the fidh were laying eggs and water temperatures
5) We were told how many trees we could remove at a time. We had to plant grass seed on disturbed areas before we were done working there, sometimes tearing up the area again before the grass sprouted.
6) Projects took much longer to build and cost a lot more in taxpayer funds to build them
7) I believe the extra cost was in the vicinity of adding 1/3rd to the cost of the project
8) I was not against reasonable precautions to check the environment
9) The bay was most frequently cited as the impetus but the Bay I read recently is not one bit better that it was 30 yrs ago
10) The environmental agencies (state) had unlimited authority to control our operations but did not have one ounce of budgetary responsibility or one dollar of budget.
