Tomato trees,anyone actually grow them?

Any one actually purchase those tomato trees, that you see advertised in magazines, usually from a gower in Michigan? Do these things really grow & produce what they claim, hard to believe but would like to hear from someone who actually has these trees & what yield they give, thanks |

I was considering getting an early start with my tomato garden, here in the New York city area, by turning it over and adding a manure to the soil to be turned in at a later date. Does this seem reasonable, do you have any particular suggestions? Thanks for your help.
