Generator Won't Start
Hello all, I own a 10 hp briggs and stratton generator that will not start. I have checked my oil level and found that it was slightly low. I filled it to the proper level. I also removed the spark plug and poured a teaspoon of gasoline in the cylinder: the engine fired up and ran. I know my problem is gas not getting to the engine. Where should I look? and what should I do to remedy this problem?

Sounds like the fuel jet is clogged up with varnish (old fuel). Buy some carb cleaner from the local auto parts store and "carefully" clean out the jet and any other parts that are gunked up. You'll want to obtain a carb diagram (they're all similar) to determine where each part is located.

When You Say It Started And Ran After Priming, Do You Mean It Ran For A Short Time And Died? Or Did It Continue To Run After Priming?
Please Clarify, Then I Will Be Glad To Try And Help You. Also, Be Cautious Using The Carb Cleaner As How Some Parts Can Be Damaged By The Chemical. |

Hello experts, I have a Lennox Signature series furnace which is about 9 years old. Since last window, it make a very loud noise when it start. The noise sounds like a power generator making humming sound. I would to have some idea where to look at before calling technician. Thank you.
