    Losing the love handles
I'm a 39 year old mother with grown children. I've been working out diligently for the last 10 years (1 hr step class at least 3 times a week, 1 hour of weight lifting/ab work weekly, walking the dog for 20 minutes every day, etc... ).

I'm at a healthy weight (5'3 and 115 pounds) but I can NEVER get rid of the small love handles and tummy. Will they NEVER go away and do I just resign myself to having those, or any suggestions of what I should add to my workout?

    Thanks.

More effective alternatives are crunches, crunch machines (or ab rollers), hip lifts, and reverse crunches. You also need resistance training, it is important to train the entire body. Many people think they should do only cardiovascular activities until the weight comes off, then add weight training later on, weight training is an aerobic exercise , it burns more glycogen than body fat. However woking out with weights will increase your lean body mass, which in turn raises your resting metabolic rate. The faster your metabolism is the more fat you will burn. A complete program should include aerobic exercise and weight:cool: training, 30-60 minutes per session, 3-4 x per week, in conjunction with a low fat, low sugar low caloric food program, It takes time but if you follow just a few of these ideas, that should show results.
