    Fish Attacked
Hello out there. I am not sure if this is how this place works, and I appologize to anyone if I erred. I have a pond split in 2 levels about 550 gallons. I have Koi, goldfish and a couple of smaller species. Two nights ago, they were attacked by a raccoon or possum I figure. Three died, one Koi jumped from 1 pond to the other and made it. However, 2 surviving goldfish, each approx. 8 in. long, were severely wounded. Besides having split tail fins and scraped sides, they were bitten on their mouths, one worse than the other. The lesser injured fish barely moves his lips, and he has difficulty eating now, although I have seen him suck in broken sticks of food. The other one is more severe. He has holes about a 1/4 inch up from his lips. His mouth, from the front view, is askew now. After 2 days, he so far can't seem to eat. He approaches sticks, but obviously, his mouth doesn't work right. I'm hopeful he can suck it in and I'll take it from there. Anybody have similar experiences or info? I'd love to hear. If I have to euthanize them, anyone know a humane method? They seem to be swimming around and interacting with each other still, so that's good I think. Thanks, Gary

Melafix and Pimafix for ponds fish are natural remedies to treat the wounds and any infections that the wounds have most likely caused.
Together they promote fast tissue regeneration and fight against fungal and bacterial infections while the fish heal and recover.

These medications are made for both ponds and aquariums.
If you decide to use these treatments, be sure you are purchasing the one
    Designed for ponds.

You could also check into adding caves or other hiding places that fish can hide, protective screens, water or sound deterrents, etc to scare away predators.

Sorry this has happened and I hope your fish recover.
    Good luck.
