    My beta again.
I have a 55gal tank with community fish in it. Danios,tetras,cats,1angel,cherry barbs, and some hatchet fish.
Could my beta be inserted into this tank?

It really depends on the current of your water and the temperament of your Beta. Beta fish usually only do well in 1 to 20 gallon aquariums because the filters are not as powerful as the ones used in bigger tanks.
If the water in your aquarium is moving very fast, it will make it difficult for your Beta to reach the surface where he breaths and choppy surface water will hinder his ability to properly breath.
Beta fish breath at the waters surface through an organ called a labyrinth which is comparable to our lungs.
Some Beta fish have a mild temperament and do just fine with other fish as long as they don't resemble another Beta (like Guppies with their beautiful colors and big tail fin); however some will fight to the death no matter what kind of fish it is. It really depends on the Betas personality as to whether it and the other tank mates can be happy living together.
Some people may suggest differently and tell you that they all need a solitude confinement, but it's been my experience that not every Beta has to live a solo life. You just have to watch the behavior very carefully.

Ok, thanks. Will maybe try when I have a couple days to watch. Just worried about film.
I try to do everything that I have been told, but It must be trial and error. I just don't want it to cost the life of a good fish!

In the other post I mentioned two different kinds of film regularly known to appear in Beta bowls. I'm wondering if it is a bubble nest. Does the film look foamy?
If you do decide to try him in your 55 gal the 3 most important things are to make sure he is able to swim around without difficulty, is able to easily breath at the waters surface, and signs of aggression.
Also, I noticed you have a few "nippy" fish, you may need to watch out for the Danios and Cherry Barbs nipping your Betas fins.

I have 55 gallons too with tiger barbs, rosey barbs, four kinds of gouramis (big ones too), diamond tetras, bleeding heart tetras, an angel, a cat, and an underwater frog. I recently added a beta without trouble to replace one I had a long time ago. The only one who ever caused trouble was the bala shark I had in the beginning with everyone and then it would simply eat the little ones. I swapped it when it grew too big. I recently changed the filtering device and now have a non-agitating filter arrangement so my tank is very calm and silent, as Akae suggests for betas, and its set up to look like a riverbed with lots of hiding places too. The cat, frog and beta all breathe from the surface. The beta occasionally catches his reflection in the side panels that act like mirrors at night and makes a brilliant display for us too.
