Was I wrong in questioning public companies future?
I recently posted a thread on a public companies financial board website regarding a very large loss that they incurred on a very profitable division that they bought a few years ago and drove into the ground through inexperienced and uneducated management that they put in place.

I had very good inside information on what happened there and as an investor, I asked what they were doing to correct the situation to ensure me, the investor, that it would not happen again for they have purchased other highly-profitable companies recently that could go the same way.

All they kept trying to do was badger me on who I was and why I was asking these questions, which I did answer. Most of the posters on the board I believe were inside employees who did nothing but bad mouth me.

I believe I knew who the individual was and I gather he did not like being called on the carpet. He has a high profile in the news and is not hard to pick out with the way he talks. All people and businesses make mistakes over the years, but at least own up to it and move on with a corrective action plan, not the same old plan for they have made these very costly mistakes in the past with other companies that they bought.

The individual has only worked for this one company his entire life and honestly doesn't know any other way.

As an investor, was I wrong to question this person's ability to use my money wisely in the future or should I have kept quiet and taken my beating silently.

I have since sold and taken my loss for none of my questions were ever answered.

I don't think I quite understand your question.

Were you wrong to post "inside information" on what may have been a public board?

Only you know that and the fact that you are asking this question makes me think that perhaps you were.

No, it was not inside information. This type of question has been asked on the board before.

Sorry, I misread - the person who was badgering you was an inside person. Got it.

Then I don't understand the attitude they had UNLESS something uncalled for was going on.

And unless it's something you can get sued for, it's a free country!

As an investor, you're an owner in that company. Why on earth should you take a beating silently? And why would you not be allowed to question what the company is doing? They are responsible to you.

I don't know if doing it on a forum there is the place to do it, because I've never been on such a forum and don't know what goes on there.

But certainly you have every right to call the guy on it and question what is going on. All stockholders have a right to do this and they also owe you the truth.
