Where to start to get emancipated
I am 16. I am about to be 17 in August. I can't handle living at home. My boyfriend really wants me out of here. All my friends agree with him, that my grandparents treat me badly. I have two years left of high school I'm about to get a job and I have a place to stay. Now I just need to get ouy of here. Can you help me?.

Nope, a "place to stay" does not meet requirements, you have to earn and have enough money to have your OWN place, not live with someone, and esp not a boyfriend.

You are on the right start, get a job, you save up enough money for an attorney and to file in court for emancipation. In court you will prove there is a legal reason for needing to be free from them. Are they hurting you, abusing you, do they mistreat you, Just being unhappy is not a reason, or if they make you follow their rules, that is not enough.

Cripes... another 16 year old that thinks they have it ALL figured out... well, if you have enough money to start paying a lawyer... maybe you will get emancipated about the time you turn 18.

First off... YOU have to have a job that pays enough to support yourself, and pay your OWN rent... try doing that at 21... at 16 you have a snowballs chance in hell of doing it... you also have Utilities... transportation... food... insurance... and that's if you take a bus everywhere... and staying at someone else's place DOESN'T count.

You friends aren't half as smart as you think they are either... if they all agreed you should tattoo a swastika on your forehead because it would look cool does that make them right too?

How many of them have jobs and careers that allow them to be completely self supporting? None I assume.

Time to stop acting like a child and start showing some maturity and worry about school rather than your boyfriend who won't be around in a few years anyway... because if you don't McDonalds will be the best you can achieve in life..

I'm being hard on you because you need to snap back to reality before you ruin your life... You have two more years before you are an adult and become responsible to ruin it all on your own... until then you AREN'T old enough or mature enough to do what you want.

And when you are, you are going to find out its NOT as easy as you think it will be.

Don't pay the rent... they throw you out... don't have money to pay for food, you don't eat... don't pay the utilities you have no electric, hear, water, TV or anything else you take for granted now...

As an adult or emancipated kid... YOU are responsible for them... no free rides like you have now.
