Want to add biological father to birth certificate
OK, Here is the scoop: I am 23 and my mom did not put my father's name on my birth certificate. I would like to get it put on my birth certificate. My father has been deceased since 2003 but there was a paternity test done in 1986 as he refused to believe he was the father. I am located in NY state. Any help in the right direction would be great.
Some things I would be looking for... How in the world would I go about this? Would I need a lawyer and/or court order? What types of costs am I looking at (I am not made of money! ) ? About how long would it take (I am aiming to get it done before the end of April 2010)? |
