As an aunt do I have any rights to get court ordered visitation rights?

Not in any state that I know of. In some places its hard for even grandparents to get visitation.

Scott is right. Aunts and Uncles just do not get awarded visitation. Now you can make yourself a strong case for that and depending on the Judge, it could be possible. At the same time, don't count on it. But, what does it cost you to try? Some attorney's fees and time. Why can't you visit your niece? Is the parent not allowing you to?

My niece is 5 years old and my brother and her mom just recently got divorced a few months ago. Well see what happened is I quit my job that my ex sister in law owns half the business and I had put a two weeks notice in and then I collected unemployment because I haven't been able to find the job I really want. So she's mad at me for that and also I meet someone who I am going to be spending the rest of my life with and she doesn't like that idea either because she says I don't hang out with her well she had also meet someone too around the time I meet my fiancee'. So she decided to take it out on my niece and not let me see her. If either of you have Yahoo or msn messenger let me know id like to talk to you two on their also. I am going to have to look into something because I miss my niece so much it hurts and sometimes I even cry myself to sleep just wishing that her mother would let me see her again. Also another thing is her mother treated my fiancee' so rude after he bought her over a hundred dollars worth of toys clothing shoes and she NEVER ONCE said thanks and I don't understand why she is doing this to me/us! I need some help I WANT TO SEE MY NIECE SO BAD!!
