    Rights
My husband recently took my child and will not allow me to see him. He went out of town and left the child with his mother. I went to her house and she refused to let me see him. I called the police who told me she had done nothing wrong and would not intervene.
I have never been involved with children services, etc.
I can not believe that a grandmother has right cover me.
I have contacted a lawyer but can not get in for days.

Can this really be the law?

Without knowing where you are it's difficult to say. In general both parents have equal rights. There is NO Court proceeding of any kind underway? Divorce, separation, anything?

Why didn't you call the Police when he took the child? Or were you living together or something else?

The Police won't intervene unless they believe this is a criminal matter - I'm not seeing that it is.

If an Attorney won't see you for "days" I'd find another Attorney.
