Past due child support in Florida?
What maximum amount are you allowed to be past due on child support in Florida before they try and put you in jail? With the economy the way it is, I have not been able to get a job!

Depends on the courts there is no set amount. But if your over $1500 behind they can take a lot of steps to mess up your life. So go in and get a modification before its too late.

But if I understand correctly, getting a modification won't lessen the amount you already owe - just change the amount you pay presently & future. So you will still owe that money, as well as make continuing support payments.

Its hard to say what a judge will do. But as soon as its filed it can be considered. By not filing it only adds up at a much higher rate.
