Is this place you're moving to furnished? If it's unfurnished, how will you afford furniture? a bed? bed and bath linens? Where will you do your laundry? Did your parents buy your clothes? If so, technically, they aren't yours. Is your job full-time with great benefits including health insurance? If no health insurance, since doctor visits are so expensive, you'll have to sit in an ER and wait for maybe six hours for medical attention (and apply for Medicaid), depending on what is wrong. I am really concerned for you and how this is going to work out.

***ADDED*** "weed"???? Ah, now I understand.

I wanted to some times too! Not only did I have one younger brother in high school but my baby brother was born in the middle of my sophomore year. Guess what... I was smart enough to know that actually going through with my plan to move out wasn't going to help me. Not even to prove to my parents that I could! I did move when I went to college!

So, legally can you move? Yes, absolutely. Is anyone here that has been 18 (and a WHOLE lot wiser now believe it or not) going to tell you that is what would be in your best interest? NO. I'm still young enough I don't always want to sound like my parents telling youngsters these things. I'll do it though if I think it will help someone.
I get where you are coming from I don't know I guess some people can do thibngs that others can't do. I just can't stand being told what to do when I pay bills cleanujp AFTER EVERYONE and still maintain a good education and future. I may be 18 but I'm not like every 18 yr old. Ihave a smart head on my shoulders I plan on keeping it that way. That way I can get my RN.

I think posts 2 and 3 stated you can move out at l8, you are already an adult, but to be quite truthful the maturity level doesn't show up in your later posts. Sure everyone just loves the hard way of doing things.

So pack your bags and move out like tal said in post 3.

End of story unless you have something else to add @zonarayne.

Oh... 18 going on 14 with that attitude... I wish I would be there to see the crash and burn. But once you see the train leave the tracks... what happens next is a forgon conclusion. And the train has already left the tracks.

Wait untill they have to start listening to what a boss tells them to do everyday for the rest of their working life......a boss that might not be so nice and forgiving as mom and dad were, and in fact is very unlikely to be.

Now that is just plain dumb if you actually believe that. SHow up for work stoned or just smelling like it and you will find yourself fired.

Your last few posts have really shown you to be the rule rather than the exception. If you really do want to succeed drop the attitude. It will get you nowhere fast.

I was going to post defending you until I saw this post. Up until then, I felt you are being given too hard a time. But this comment and your use of vulgarity tells me that you have a problem with a lack of maturity.

I don't know of any 18 yr old who has a "I have agreat paying job". And I also doubt that any 18 yr old pays all "the bills in the house". Your household consists of at least 4 people, you, your parents and a brother. I can't believe that you are making enough while going to school full time, to pay all the bills. So that leaves me to suspect that you don't have a full grasp of reality. which could be a result of your use of weed.

I also suspect that you are not moving on your own, but probably moving in with your "amazing boyfriend". And that is more of why you want to leave and your parents don't want you to leave than anything else.
