    My girlfriend is recently divorced and the stipulations for her maintenance to void are 1. She re-marries or 2. she cohabits on a permanent basis( 30 consecutive overnights out of 60 days) with a male. What does this mean exactly. If I sleep somewhere else every 29 days is it legal or is it 30 nights out of 60 days? How can we get around this?

    You would have to not move in with her. Meaning that you could spend three nights with her then your own place for a few nights then you could go back with her for a few days. So yes if you wanted to spend 29 mights there that would be okay as long as you found another place to stay for a while after that (generally the next 31 days) because if her ex wants to bring it back to court for the maitenance to be voided the judge would see right through you staying for 29 days then only being gone three then back again.

    Could she get this stipulation stricken? He's in violation of the divorce agreement by not getting an insurance policy on himself with her as the beneficiary. Could she trade that for the stipulation? Mentioning it would send up a red flag. Anybody out there been through this?

    If she want's to go back to court over it then it could probaby be modified if he is also in agreement. But unless she wants to do that and he agrees to it you would be better off just not moving in. Or she could just let the money stop coming from him and move on with her life with you!

    I agree with stina 100%. Why would she even consider it ? And why would she be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy since they are no longer married ? Instead of looking for a free ride from this other man maybe just move in and agree to support her. Otherwise if she still wants money from the ex then don't move in. That simple.
