What are the rights for a grandmother. My son did not marry the girl he got pregnant and I love the little boy. The mother and her family are quite well off and love the child and wants me to be a part of his life also. My son has a disorder. I had to get a restraining order. Just for spite he doesn't want me to see my grandchild. He called me tonight to tell me he is having a summons served on me to keep me away. What can he do.The mother and her family also have a restraining order against him. Everyone who has gotten to know him thinks he is a very sick boy. Everything I read about socialopaths describes him. Please let me know my rights. Thanks

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Grandparents rights have gained some support in recent years, but the laws vary widely depending on where you are.

However, in your case, your son is blowing smoke. I'm assuming the mother has full custody. If so, then she has the say about who can visit the child. This really doesn't have to do with grandparent rights. In the unlikely event a court grants your son's petition, you will have a chance to fight it in court. As long as the mother testifies on your behalf the order would be lifted.

Grandparents have some rights in some states, no rights in other states.
But of course if the mother of the child and her family will let you see the child, then see, if you son tries to get you seved with a restraining order, fight it in court and prove him wrong.
